World Leagues Association announces 2026 Annual Meeting in Prague, Czechia

Zurich and Prague, 2 February 2026 — The World Leagues Association (WLA), the global body representing professional football leagues, is thrilled to announce that its 2026 Annual Meeting will take place in Prague, Czechia, from 11 to 13 November 2026.

Annual Meeting 2026

The event will be hosted by the Ligová Fotbalová Asociace (LFA), the Czech professional league, marking a key milestone as the WLA celebrates its 10th anniversary.

Since its founding in 2016, the World Leagues Association has expanded steadily and now brings together nearly fifty national professional leagues from around the globe. Over the past decade, the Association has strengthened cooperation between leagues worldwide, promoted professionalisation, and consistently advocated for the interests of national football.

The Annual Meeting is the flagship event of the WLA calendar, gathering league executives, policymakers and key stakeholders to discuss major developments in the global professional game. Over three days, participants will take part in workshops, roundtables and strategic sessions addressing both current challenges and emerging opportunities across league football.

The WLA is pleased to be hosted by the Ligová Fotbalová Asociace, a member league that has demonstrated notable progress in recent years and serves as a strong example of governance, development and commercial growth.

Richard Masters, Chair of the World Leagues Association, said:

“Prague is one of Europe’s great football cities and Czechia is a fantastic setting for our members to meet, share perspectives and build stronger cooperation. We’re also pleased to be hosted by the Czech League, whose progress and professionalism have improved impressively over recent years.”

Tomáš Bárta, Executive Director of Ligová Fotbalová Asociace, added:
“We are delighted to welcome the World Leagues Association to Prague in November 2026. For those two days, Czech football will become a true centre of the professional game, and we look forward to hosting colleagues from leagues around the world.”
