The World Leagues Association (WLA) and Liga Hondubet will convene leaders of professional football leagues from across the region in Tegucigalpa, Honduras, from 4–6 May 2026 for the 3rd Central America Leagues Meeting. The event aims to strengthen regional collaboration and reflect on the development of club football in Central America.
Following previous editions in Panama City, Panama, in 2024 and Managua, Nicaragua, in 2025, the annual gathering arrives in Honduras as it continues to reinforce cooperation among Central American leagues and the shared commitment to growing the game across the region.
The meeting will welcome representatives from leagues and international stakeholders for two days of dialogue, networking and knowledge exchange. Since its launch, the Central America Leagues Meeting has become an important platform for discussing the future of club football in the region and identifying opportunities for collective progress.
This year’s agenda will focus on several priority themes for regional football, including competition development, innovation in officiating and broadcast operations, league growth strategies, and cooperation between member leagues. Delegates will also take part in presentations, working sessions and discussions designed to share best practices while addressing league challenges and achievements.
The meeting will also review the recent report commissioned by the WLA, which gathered feedback from Central American leagues on how the region can strengthen sporting development and commercial sustainability.
Beyond the formal sessions, the event in Tegucigalpa will highlight the growing momentum of Central American football and the increasing value of cooperation among leagues. By working together, leagues across the region can create new opportunities for clubs and raise standards on and off the pitch.
The World Leagues Association thanks Liga Hondubet for hosting this year’s edition and looks forward to welcoming participants for another important milestone in the growth of Central American football.
